Brain Capers (Rhino Reserve)

Brain Capers captures Mott the Hoople at their heaviest and most unfiltered. Often considered the band's rawest album, it strips away glam and Polish in favor of hard-driving rock, snarling guitars, and Ian Hunter's defiant, world-weary vocals. Released at a turbulent moment for the band, the record crackles with tension and urgency, blending gritty riffs with sharp songwriting and moments of bruised vulnerability. Darker, louder, and more aggressive than much of their catalog, Brain Capers stands as a cult favorite and a powerful snapshot of Mott the Hoople on the brink.
