Virtua Fighter 2 Original Game Soundtrack (Orange & Red)
Shipping now. Virtua Fighter 2 exploded into arcades worldwide in 1994. The sequel, developed by SEGA AM2 and directed by visionary creator Yu Suzuki, touted next-level 3D action and, notably, 3D texture mapping. VF2's 60fps action, new characters, moves, and textured look were made possible by SEGA's brand-new Model 2 board.
Virtua Fighter 2's popularity was immediate. It is not only one of Sega's most popular arcade games, but among the Sega Saturn's highest-selling titles to date.
Nearly 30 years after its release, we present to you the iconic soundtrack to Virtua Fighter 2, composed by Takayuki Nakamura, Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, and Akiko Hashimoto. As is the case with our Virtua Fighter 1 soundtrack release, the music is presented in its original arcade form as well as the arranged versions produced specifically for the Sega Saturn release.
Included in this special 2XLP release are newly-written liner notes by Takayuki Nakamura, who composed music for Virtua Fighter 1, 2, and 3. Nakamura-san has provided a rich history of SEGA sound production and an inside look at the music of Virtua Fighter 1 and 2.
As we were keen to include all of the music produced for Virtua Fighter 2, two of the game's themes (Jacky and Sarah) are presented on an included 7-inch record.
Experience Virtua Fighter 2's iconic soundtrack—including popular themes like Ride the Tiger and Eternal Moment—across two LPs, with large format artwork and newly remastered sound.
